Why accept second best in life?

I am a person who used to accept second best in life. This was no doubt mainly due to the fact that I had a lack of self-confidence.

I so wanted to be a success and realised that I was letting myself down by living my life in such a negative way.

A couple of years ago I decided to change my whole approach to life, I was determined to show the world a new confident, positive and happy John Farrant.

The majority of my idols come from the world of sport. I wanted to learn about the ways in which these sportsmen and sportswomen reached the top of their respective sports.

I believed that by understanding how they lived their life, the way in which they thought and their approach to certain situations, such as pressure, that I could then be inspired to also become successful.

I wanted, in the future, to follow my dreams and to only accept the best in life.

I was sure that by studying these successful sports people that I could achieve this.

I started to read various books about these giants of the sports world, I read about their childhood, the amount that they trained, the way that they set themselves targets and about their desire to win.

I then started to put all what I had learnt into practice. I set myself daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals and worked very hard to achieve them.

I was now only going to think in a positive manner and was happy to go the extra mile to reach the top of my field.

All of this has helped me to increase my overall self-esteem; I am now a far happier person and have become much more successful in my business life.

John Farrant is the owner of Adaptatech where he offers a professional DVD authoring service.
